Biography

Pablo Tarantino is a versatile drummer, composer and educator based in Leipzig, Germany.
Born in the vibrant cultural hub of Buenos Aires (Argentina), he starts developing his love affair with music at a very early age, greatly influenced by the music that his older brother (a musician from the Buenos Aires scene) would introduce to him. Music is embedded in his childhood and his music taste is shaped through the exposition to different genres and styles. Among his influences are jazz, funk, pop-rock, latin, folklore, fusion…

When the change of century and new millenium is approaching he moves to Europe landing in Spain. Living in Valencia and Barcelona he studies at the Conservatori Liceu (Berklee School of Music) in Barcelona. These years will be crucial in his musical life. He begins working as a musician, getting involved in different projects and recording his first albums.

After his music studies he moves to several countries and lives in London, Bristol, Lisbon, Berlin and currently Leipzig, where he is working with artists like Sly Chameleons, Nora Benamara, Olga Reznichenko, Lorenz Heigenhüber, Vico Diaz, Greco Murillo, Kota No Uta, Salvation Bill, Kelele or Diego Alejandro Ensemble, among others, and performing in renowned venues and festivals, including Palau de la Musica Catalana, Kenako Afrika Festival, Karneval der Kulturen, Bergmannstrassenfest or Glastonbury.

Over the years, his collection of music and life experiences have shaped his personal sound and will be the compositions featured on his debut album “Charnia,” expected to be released in the fall 2024 on PKmusik.
