Biography

Pablo Tarantino is a versatile drummer, composer, and educator based in Leipzig, Germany.

Born in the vibrant cultural hub of Buenos Aires, Argentina, he developed a deep passion for music at an early age, inspired by the sounds his older brother — a musician active in the Buenos Aires scene — introduced to him.

Music was a constant presence throughout his childhood, and his eclectic taste was shaped by exposure to a wide range of genres and styles. His influences include jazz, funk, pop-rock, Latin, folklore, and fusion, among others.

At the turn of the millennium, he moved to Europe, settling first in Spain. While living in Valencia and Barcelona, he studied at the Conservatori Liceu (Berklee College of Music) in Barcelona — a period that proved crucial to his musical development. During those years, he began working professionally, joining various projects and recording his first albums.

After completing his studies, Tarantino lived in several European cities — including London, Bristol, Lisbon, Berlin, and now Leipzig — where he continues to collaborate with artists such as: Guillermo Klein, Gregor Forbes, Nora Benamara, Olga Reznichenko, Lorenz Heigenhüber, Vico Diaz, Greco Murillo, Kota No Uta, Salvation Bill, Kelele or Diego Alejandro Ensemble. He has performed at renowned venues and festivals such as the Palau de la Música Catalana, Kenako Afrika Festival, Karneval der Kulturen, Bergmannstraßenfest, and Glastonbury Festival.

Over the years, his musical journey and life experiences have shaped a distinctive personal sound. These influences come together in his debut album “Charnia,” released in October 2024 on PKmusik.
